Manual Lathe Machinist

Overview

We are looking for an experienced manual lathe machinist to join our first-shift team. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in an industrial environment with rotating equipment.

Primary duties

• Set up, operate, and maintain manual lathes to machine parts to precise specifications.
• Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders.
• Perform routine inspection of finished parts using measuring tools (micrometers, calipers, gauges).
• Diagnose and perform mechanical repairs on pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with plant safety standards.
• Coordinate with supervisors and team members to meet production schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of manual lathe machinist experience.
• Mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in pumps, motors, and gearboxes.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Must be able to pass plant background check requirements.
• NCCER certification required.
• First shift availability.

Work environment

Industrial shop floor environment. Requires standing for extended periods, lifting, and use of manual and precision tools.
