Industrial Machinist

Millwright – Freeport, TX Location

We are seeking an experienced Industrial Machinist / Millwright with strong manual machining and mechanical repair skills. This position involves rebuilding and repairing rotating equipment and performing precision machining work both in-shop and in the field when required.

Responsibilities

• Operate manual mills and lathes
• Use manual lathes to manufacture and repair:
• Shafts
• Pins
• Bushings
• Sleeves
• Threads
• Custom machined parts
• Rebuild and repair:
• Pumps
• Gearboxes
• Electric motors
• Blowers
• Valves
• Rotating equipment
• Perform precision measurements and alignments
• Line bore equipment when required
• Perform light fabrication and welding:
• MIG
• TIG
• Stick welding
• Troubleshoot mechanical equipment failures
• Read blueprints, drawings, and repair specifications
• Maintain safe work practices in industrial environments

Qualifications

• 7-10 years strong experience operating manual mills and lathes
• Ability to machine shafts, pins, and custom components to tolerance
• Strong mechanical aptitude
• Experience with rotating equipment and gearbox repair
• Welding experience preferred
• Line boring experience highly preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Industrial, refinery, chemical plant, or heavy equipment experience preferred
